Hills Beach
Hills Beach is a small beach community in Biddeford, just down the street from the University of New England.
Here you will find a 500 yard stretch of sandy beach on the north side of Biddeford Pool near the mouth of the Saco River. Sand dunes lead down to this quiet beach which is protected by the breakwater on the north side and the curve of the cove to the south. This beach is great for small children as the water is generally calm.
Parking is very limited along the streets of the neighborhood near the beach. There are no lifeguards on duty. Set out on your kayak from Hills Beach and you can paddle around Basket Island, Stage Island and over to the Wood Island Lighthouse. You can also paddle from here up the Saco River for beautiful views and bird watching.
There is a public boat launch on the pool side of Hills Beach, perfect for launching a kayak or paddleboard for a relaxing sunset paddle.
